Totally focused on a live gig or in the studio, undertaking all types of music with bands, orchestras, shows, session work & clinics. Over the past 40 years Jan has worked with various TV, radio and live West End productions including Les Miserables, Starlight Express, Chicago, South Pacific, Tommy Cooper & Eric Sykes, Freddie Starr, The Three Degrees, Michael Parkinson Petula Clark and session work for major artistes worldwide.During the last thirty years, Jan has become increasingly involved in jazz education, teaching many students who have gone on to become successful performers throughout the music industry. With a BMus (Hons) Degree plus a huge experience gained from the Royal Marines playing on HMY Britannia (The Royal Yacht) and accredited as a private instructor and clinician at schools and universities in the UK, Jan is available to discuss many categories including trumpet fundamentals, breathing, aperture control, trouble shooting, choosing the right equipment for the job, ensemble playing, the role of a lead player, musicality, differences in jazz style, and a few points of friendly advice.
